Giving thanks by giving back: Four ways you can support Liza’s Light

As the holiday season approaches, it's a time for gratitude, reflection, and giving back. This year, consider celebrating the spirit of giving by supporting the Liza’s Light Soccer and Track Stadium Fund. The initiative is set to honor the legacy of Liza Wellford Fletcher by building a world-class stadium at the University of Memphis, providing our athletes with the facilities they deserve and creating a lasting impact on the community.

One of the simplest ways to support Liza’s Light is by making a direct financial contribution. We're on a mission to raise $7 million for phase one of construction, creating a state-of-the-art facility that will transform University of Memphis athletics. Every dollar counts and gets us closer to building a stadium that will be a game-changer for our soccer and track programs. 2. Explore naming opportunities

For those looking to make a lasting impact, several naming opportunities are still available within the new Liza Wellford Fletcher Stadium. This is a unique way to leave a legacy while underwriting the future of Memphis Athletics. Current naming options include:

These naming opportunities will honor the generosity of our donors and serve as a permanent tribute to Liza’s inspiring spirit. 

3. Attend upcoming fundraising events

Throughout the year, we will host various fundraising events to bring our community together. Mark your calendar for our Kendra Scott Gives Back Event on November 20, 2024, at the Kendra Scott Saddle Creek location. It's a perfect opportunity to shop for your holiday gifts while making a difference – 20% of every purchase will directly support the Liza’s Light Stadium Fund. Join us from 4 to 7 pm for an evening of sips, sweets, and shopping, all in the spirit of giving back to a meaningful cause.
